H.G. Alexios Mar Eusebius

His Grace Alexios Mar Eusebius formerly Very Rev. Alexanthrayose Ramban (Rev. Fr. Alex Daniel) is a member of St. George Orthodox Church, Puthoor of Kollam Diocese.  Thirumeni hails from Vattakkattu family, Puthoor.  Thirumeni is the fourth son of Late. Y. Daniel and Smt.Chinnamma Daniel. The late Fr. V.J. Jacob, Vattakkattu is his paternal uncle.  His Grace’s educational achievements are listed below:

In 1995, H. H Baselious Mathews II ordained him to the priesthood. Along with serving priestly duties in various parishes in Bangalore, Germany and the Calcutta diocese, His Grace has served in many key positions:
•Appointed as the faculty of Old Testament in St. Thomas Orthodox Theological Seminary, Nagpur.  Warden, Director of Fieldwork, Bursar
•Director of OVBS
•Treasurer of School for Mentally Challenged Children, Nagpur
•Treasurer, the Orthodox Sunday School Association of the East (Out Side Kerala Region)
•Director of Akhila Malankara Orthodox Shushrushaka Sangam (Out Side Kerala Region)
•Advocate in the High Court of Kerala in the year 1994
•Practiced as a Civil Lawyer in the District Court, Kollam
•Handled the regular columns in the Malankara Sabha, Sahayatra, Parish Mission Literatures of the Nagpur Seminary and in the Souvenirs and Magazines of various Churches.
•Published a book in Malayalam named “Vachanathejas”, a compilation of Sunday Sermons for a complete year.
His Grace has served and represented the Church in other ways by participating in many conferences of SATHRI and ECC, Bangalore, VIth annual conference of CMAI, Schillong (2006), the Curriculum Revision Committee of Serampore University (2006), five-day conference for the youths of Orthodox – Lutheran Churches held at Greiswald, Germany (2005), works of NCCI and India Peace Center, Nagpur.

H.G. Dr. Yuhanon Mar Meletius
Metropolitan, Thrissur Diocese

His Grace was born at Elakkaranadu, a typical village in the Ernakulam District of Kerala, to a social worker Mr Markose and Mrs Saramma, Murimakkil. He had his primary education from the Government School at Maneed. After his schooling, His Grace studied at St Peter’s College, Kolencherry, and passed out with his bachelors in Malayalam.

Coming to the theological studies, he did his BD and MTh degrees from the United Theological College, Bangalore. Thereupon, he took ThM and PhD qualify (old testament theology) from Lutheran School of Theology, Chicago. His Grace has submitted his PhD paper to Dharmaram Vidyashektram, Bangalore. Meanwhile, he studied syriac at St Aphrem’s Seminary, Damascus.

Mar Meletius got into the services of Our Lord being ordained a deacon in 1973 by His Grace Paulose Mar Phelexinos, the then metropolitan of Kandanad Diocese. He was ordained a priest in 1986 by His Beatitude Catholicos Baselios Paulose II. HH Patriarc Ignatius Zakka I, ordained him as Ramban on 22 December 1990 and as Bishop on 23 December 1990 in Damascus. Since then, he is serving the Trissur Diocese as its Metropolitan.

As a priest, he was teaching at MSOT Seminary, Udaigiri. He was also serving as the vicar of St Mary’s Church, Valampur, for about four years. His Grace is also served as the president of Orthodox Christian Youth Movement.

A scholar, His Grace is a visiting professor to the Orthodox seminaries at Nagpur and Kottayam. An accomplished writer, Mar Meletius has few books—Verukal Thedi, Manavikathayude Kazhchapadukal, Swatantravum Swayam Paryapthathayum—to his credit.

Rev. Dn. Shawn P. Thomas

My name is Dn. Shawn Thomas, and I have spent my whole life in the great city of Chicago, where my parents and two younger brothers still live. I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011. I spent two years after graduation working in a Alzheimer's research lab, before joining St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary in Yonkers, NY in 2013. I graduated from there with my Masters of Divinity in 2016, and then my Masters of Theology in 2017. My interests are Scripture, Canon Law, Church History, and Basketball.
